- I am delighted to announce that Mario's
first two movies THAT MIDNIGHT KISS and THE TOAST OF NEW ORLEANS will be
released in the U.S. by Warner Home Video on a newly remastered two-disc
DVD set later this year, date to be announced. Disc one will feature THAT
MIDNIGHT KISS along with an outtake, "One Love of Mine", and
the film's trailer. Disc two will feature THE TOAST OF NEW ORLEANS, the
trailer, and Mark Kidel's outstanding Mario Lanza documentary SINGING TO
THE GODS. I understand that Mark has made a couple of minor changes to
the musical selections due to copyright issues, so this will be a slightly
different version to the one previously seen on the BBC. No date has been
set yet for the 2-disc DVD compilation to be released in Europe.

- Based on demand, it is Warner's intention
to remaster and issue all of Mario's remaining movies on DVD in chronological
order, starting with THE GREAT CARUSO next year.

- So, no complete Lanza DVD box-set for
now, but great news all the same. 2007 is fast shaping up to be a significant
one in the Lanza commemorative calendar.
